The Cord Carpenter Band started in Austin, Texas and calls the city home. Cord Carpenter himself is a singer/songwriter with over a decade of professional experience including five records, countless performances and over 200 songs written and recorded. Cord has shared the stage with artists Jakob Dylan, Ben Kweller, Chris Shiflett (from the Foo Fighters), Rami Jaffee, Rusty Weir, Gary Clark Jr. and many other singer/songwriters. His work has been affiliated with MTV, VH1, local and national commercial publications, as well as custom scores for TV and radio with different bands he had, which were “Cord,” “The Criminal Kind” and Cord Carpenter (solo). He took this experience to team up with three other handpicked musicians he had worked with over the last decade to form “The Cord Carpenter Band.” The band brings a distinguished sound similar to the likes of Johnny Cash, Tom Petty and Jackson Browne—all of whom have been major influences on Cord. His musical style is a throwback to the original roots of Outlaw Country and Southern Rock ‘n’ Roll with modern-day lyrics that reflect on life, love and sometimes just being human. The ability to have so many genres—including (but not limited to) Country, Americana and Southern Rock—showing in his style gives him a sound unique in today’s generation.
